Secure Connection Failed Firefox

This kind of problem occurs when a Firefox user tries to open or browse a secure connection (example: https// or in simple, yahoo mail website ), Firefox browser shows an error message "Secure Connection Failed". see this picture bellow :

Do not worry. you can fix this problem by some easy steps.
Follow these steps :

• Go to "Application Data" folder in Windows XP.
  
  • Start menu >> Run >> type %APPDATA% >> click OK
• You are now in "Application Data" Folder.
• Next click and open Mozilla >> Firefox >> Profiles >> .... >> Now find "cert8.db" file.

Mouse Pointer does not move

Windows will not generally not indicate any problems with mouse detection. There is a known compatibility problem with some older computers and mouse combination. You can use the keyboard to invoke a basic work-around under Window 9x/Me.

Follow these steps :

• Press CTRL+ESC to open the Start menu.
• Use the arrow keys to highlight Settings, then Control Panel, and press ENTER.
• Move the arrow key over to the Mouse icon and press ENTER. This will open the Mouse Properties dialog box.
• Using the TAB key, tab over to the Quick Setup tab, and then use the RIGHT ARROW key to open the Devices tab.
• On the Devices tab, tab over to the Add Mouse button and press ENTER.

The pointing device applet should now detect the two-button mouse, and the pointer should move properly. However, you will need to perform this procedure each time you restart the system. If you are not using a Packard Bell system, you can remove the mouse in the Device Manager and use the Add New Hardware Wizard to reinstall the specific mouse. If your computer system has a dedicated PS/2 mouse port, another option is to contact the pointing device maker to see if you can exchange the serial version of a PS/2 version, or upgrade to a USB version of the pointing device.

There is no Audio when playing an audio CD in the DVD drive

This is a very common problem, specially during new DVD drive installation.

DVD movie stops when my Computer returns from a screen saver

For example, if a screen saver starts while a DVD movie is playing, you will only hear the audio. When you try to return from the screen saver ( by moving the mouse, for example ) the player may stop playing the DVD movie entirely.

To recover from this problem, you may need to exit and restart the player applet ( such as Windows Media player ) This is typically related to a problem with operating systems like Windows XP, and you may be able to fix this problem by updating Windows from the Microsoft website. In the meantime, you should disable the screen saver through the Display Properties dialog box. In some cases, the movie player may have an option that will prevent a screen saver from running during DVD playback.

DVD drive not detected

There are several possible reasons why a DVD drive may not be detected. First check the power connector attached to the drive, and make sure that the drive is not being powered from a Y-splitter power cable. Next step is, check the signal cable. Both SCSI and EIDE/UDMA signal cables must be attached securely to the drive. SCSI interfaces are complicated a bit by termination, so verify that any SCSI bus is properly terminated. Make sure that the drive is jumpered properly for its SCSI ID or EIDE/UDMA master or slave relationship. Finally, make sure that the DVD drives are installed and running. Check the drives under the Sound,Video and Game Controllers (or CD-ROM) entry of your Device Manager.

Audio is not being played by the sound card

In most cases, there is a problem with the CD audio connections or system mixer settings. Start with your disc and verify that the CD you are trying to play actually contains Red Book audio (don't try to play data CD's). Next, try playing the music CD with a set of headphones attached to the CD-ROM drive directly. If there is no audio from the headphone jack, adjust the volume control. If there is still no music, the drive is probably defective and should be replaced immediately.
Try playing WAV or MIDI files through the sound card(for example: try the Sounds icon in the Control Panel) and verify that the card's volume setting is adequate. If you cannot play any sounds at all, there may be a problem with the sound card or its drivers rather than with the CD-ROM drive. Open the sound card's mixer applet and verify that the CD audio cable is appropriate for your sound card and CD-ROM drive and see that it's attached securely at both ends. Try another CD audio cable.

Single mouse click works but double click is not working

This kind of problem occurs almost always, because the 'double-click speed' is set too high in the windows 98/Me/XP mouse properties dialog box. So, try to lowering the double-click speed. Under Windows 9x/Me, click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Double-click the Mouse icon, and adjust the Double-click Speed slider under the Buttons tab. With Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and Other Hardware -> Mouse.

Problem : No Audio when playing an audio CD in the DVD drive

This is one of the common problem, during a new DVD drive installations. May be you did not connect the 4 wire CD audio cable between the DVD drive and the sound board. If so, the cable may be reversed or defective. Of course, if your are still using your original CD-ROM/R/RW drive and the CD drive is connected to the sound board, there will be no CD audio from the DVD drive. If the DVD drives audio cable is connected to the sound board, make sure that the CD audio input of your sound boards mixer applet is turned up to a reasonable level.

If you wish to continue using an existing CD drive as the CD audio drive, then you can still use audio from the DVD drive by using a patch cable to feed the headphone output signal from the drive to the sound cards line in the jack. Then, adjust the sound cards line in mixer so that you can hear audio from DVD headphone. Also, you can upgrade the sound card to a model that provides two different CD audio channel inputs.

USB pointing devices do not work in Safe Mode

After you try to start your computer in Safe Mode, your computer may not respond to any keyboard commands, or you may receive an error message such as "Windows did not detect a mouse attached to a computer,You can safely attach a serial mouse now". The problem occurs if you are using a USB keyboard or mouse, But your system BIOS does not support USB devices in the real mode. Windows does not support the use of a USB keyboard or mouse in Safe Mode or in real mode unless the computers BIOS supports these devices. To work around this problem, use a standard keyboard or mouse instead of a USB keyboard or mouse. To correct the trouble permanently, upgrade the motherboards BIOS to a version that provides real mode USB support.
